eBay Return Policy and Refund Overview for eBay and Sellercloud

How to Add eBay Return Policy on SellerCloud as well as on eBay Marketplace Backend.

Sometimes customers encounter problem with items. May be the size does not fit them, may be it is not quite what they thought. In this cases they experiences negative interaction with the seller and in the long run they may stop doing business with the seller depending on how the seller handle the return process. According to eBay, seller must specify return policy in their listings stating whether or not they accept returns. In this article we will learn about how to add return policy for eBay thorough SellerCloud as well as how to edit return policy of specific listing from Sellercloud.

Returns: This section specifies whether you accept returns or not, how long customers have to return items as well as any return conditions seller may feel necessary to stipulate.                                                                             

Offering a 30-day or longer return period with money back option will help the seller qualify for Top Rated Plus status and unlock the following benefits: 

  • The Top Rated Plus logo displayed prominently in search results and in listing description 
  • A 10% discount on final value fees

Set Return Policy directly in eBay Backend:

We can enable eBay return policy going to the ‘Revise your listing’ page or when we list an item. 

In the Revise your listing page, we will find Return options and we will choose from the dropdown menu the number of days we want to provide the customer to return the product.

We will also choose whether we will accept free return or buyer will pay for the Return shipping. 

After updating listing we will be able to see on the eBay catalogue the Return policy has been enabled. 

But we enable return policy in this way when we want to add Return policy for a few items. We can enable eBay Return policy through SellerCloud very easily and we can set this settings by default for all of the items will be listed from now. 

Set Default Return Policy on SellerCloud for eBay:

First of all we go to Settings on SellerCloud then we click on Edit at the side of our company name.

We will click on Start eBay Settings Wizard. 

We will find a Token Page. We will click on there on Next Step.

General Setup page will open, again we will click on Next Step. We will continue clicking on Next Step until we reach at Listing Defaults page.

We can choose from the dropdown menu the number of days we want to provide to customer, within this period the customer can return the item.

Note: We can not add return period according to our wish, we have to choose only from the provided list from eBay. We can select return period 3/7/14/30/60 days.

We can also choose the Refund type, we want to add. We can provide Money Back option as well as Exchange or Replacement option.

Note: Refund type options are provided by eBay, we have to choose from there our choice. It is not possible to create a new refund type.

We also choose whether Buyer or Seller will pay for the shipping cost from the dropdown. 

Then we write about the shipping policy details.

Completing all of the fields we click on the Next Step. In this way we can enable return policy through SellerCloud without time consuming.

Edit eBay Return Policy From Sellercloud Interface for Specific Listing:

If we need to update the return policy of specific listing from sellercloud then we need to go the eBay Properties page. In the bottom section of the eBay Properties page we will find the Return Section. Now click the Dropdown and select the expected policy from Dropdown. Please see the screen
